George Herman Ruth, also known as "Babe Ruth," was a professional baseball player that was a part of the New York Yankees.  Babe Ruth was born on February 6, 1895 in Baltimore, Maryland.  During his childhood he didn't have the best supervision.  He was originally a part of the Boston Red Sox until he was put onto the New York Yankees team.  After he switched teams he improved his gameplay.  He is considered to be one of the most famous baseball players of all time.  One of his most famous nick names is "The Great Bambino."  His was considered the star of his team.  The number that he wore was 3.   He was a great hitter, as well as a great pitcher. During the time he was a baseball player, it seems he was talked about more than the president was.  It was even requested that he be payed more than the president at the time.  One of his most famous records that he broke was hitting a 60th homerun during his career.  He was married to Claire Ruth.  Eventually he acquired cancer which strongly impacted his career and life.  After several years of fighting, he lost the battle to cancer and died on August 16, 1948 in New York when he was only 53.  His jersey "3" was retired from MLB history after he died.  He broke many records within baseball history, and is still remembered in a great way today because of it
